Parenting Orders
Parenting Orders can be imposed where a parent is found guilty of failure to comply with a School Attendance Order or failed to secure the regular attendance of a registered pupil at school.
A parent will have to comply with any requirements in the Parenting Order for a period of up to twelve months. If an order is made on more than one occasion then parents may be required to attend weekly counselling and guidance sessions for a maximum of three months.
If a parent fails without a reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a Parenting Order then they will be liable for a fine or other punishment within the community.
