About our Ilkeston Office
Varley Hadley Siddall solicitors opened an office in Ilkeston in 2001 following the decision of local firm Warren & Allen to cease to trade. Ilkeston once had a manned custody suite for the detention and processing of suspects. This closed several years ago, and was followed by the Magistrates’ Court in 2011.
The partners of VHS Fletchers believe that clients still value the local provision of legal advice. As a result, we have retained the office despite the closure of police station and court, and have outlasted all other criminal legal aid providers in the town. During the summer of 2016 we were fortunate enough to be able to gain the ongoing caseload of Wykes O’Donnell Williams who ceased to undertake legally aided crime work.
Aside from providing our specialist advice in criminal defence and regulatory matters, the Ilkeston office is also the base for our solicitors who prosecute on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive. We are one of only five firms across the country who successfully tendered for this important role.
