Prosecutions on Behalf of the Health and Safety Executive
VHS and then VHS Fletchers solicitors have prosecuted on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive since 1999. 
The specialism was developed by Steven Varley, with Andy Siddall joining the department in 2008, followed by the recruitment of Andrew Broome as consultant and Jon Hullis and Helen Lees as solicitors. All have a background of many years of involvement with criminal litigation.
Our health & safety solicitors undertake Notice Appeals and represent the HSE at inquests on a regular basis, as well as preparing and presenting cases in the Magistrates’ Court and litigating cases in the Crown Court.
The firm is one of only five firms of health and safety lawyers nationwide to successfully tender for a contract to prosecute on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive.
